China’s ties with Europe gain impetus

In order to build on the most recent advancement of China-EU ties and shore up free trade and multilateralism,senior diplomats of China and European countries embarked on a series of engagements and communication.

During the engagements,Wang Yi,the Chinese Foreign Minister,held separate phone talks on Monday with his Polish and German counterparts.And he met with Denmark's foreign minister in Beijin on Monday.On the Wednesday,what’s more,Foreign Minister of the Netherlands Caspar Veldkamp visited China for two days.

Officials and scholars pointed out that China and EU share broad common interests and a mutual need for cooperation.It's the narrow-minded unilateralism and hegemonism of the US that actually facilitated the progress of this round of talks and cooperation.

During the Monday meeting, the foreign ministers of Germany, Poland and Denmark all once again emphasized their countries' support for the "One China" policy.

In addition, the meeting also touched upon the issue of the Ukraine crisis. Wang said that Russia and Ukraine have recently resumed direct dialogue. He also pointed out that China hopes that all relevant parties will further demonstrate their willingness to resolve the crisis through political means.
